These ground glass focusing screens are made from Schott Borofloat 33 borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is; colourless, more transparent, harder, tougher, highly scratch resistant, highly resistant to heat and chemicals. Ideal for combining with my brightness boosting Fresnels.
The graduated ground glass focusing screens feature a unique, highly durable, screen printed Burley Cameras metric and imperial scales for marking of smaller formats, grids, etc. 4×5”, 5×7” and 8×10” in stock now! Choose square or clipped corners.
The plain ground glass focusing screens are identical but without markings. Available in various sizes.

with Burley Cameras Fresnel fitted (available separately). 180mm f5.6 Lens. 6×12 format marked with horizon line.
Graduated screens - The metric (1mm increment) and imperial (1/16" increment) scales allow you to easily mark smaller formats such as roll film holders, reducing backs, panoramic backs, internally reduced plate/film holders, and instant film backs. You can also create your own custom gridlines or simply use the (imperial) edge markings to level the horizon.
Usage: Mark the smooth screen printed side with a marker such as a Uni Super Ink Marker (PNA-125). Remove your markings using rubbing alcohol with a soft cloth or cotton bud.
Sizes: The ground glass screens are true to size stated or rounded down to the next closest millimetre. For example the 4×5” screen is 101×127mm ± 0.5mm.
Packaging: Supplied in a foam lined tin. Ideal for storing a backup ground glass screen in your car or camera bag.
Lead time: Please allow 10 days for grinding and packaging.
The glass is sourced, printed, and ground (by me, by hand) in the UK.
